At this location is not only a retail outlet but the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate factory where you can get a free tour and observe how the chocolate is made.  It's a fascinating process especially for food lovers.

Roses Ice Cream - Portland, OR

Roses reminds me of the ice cream parlors and burger joints of old.  Not the 50's or 60's but more like the 70's. It seemed like a place to be for old school burgers, fries, and shakes, the place you'd take a high school date on a Friday night.

Crostini Sandwiches - Madison, WI

Madison's better restaurants, especially the local independent restaurants, are concentrated around the Capitol which isn't a good thing especially when it comes to the task of finding a parking spot. An exception then is Crostini, a very good sandwich shop located in a residential neighborhood away from the Capitol with a comparatively much better parking situation.

This eatery has three different signs with three different names so what is its official name? Regardless of the name, the Hispanic population seems to know it and in the time I was there, the only customers entering were Hispanic, a testament to how good the food is at Santa Cruz.

Love & Whisky - Portland International Airport PDX

I almost always feel ripped off purchasing food at an airport.  Almost because Love & Whisky is an exception providing excellent food at an outstanding value.  I hope by saying this they don't raise their prices.

Swiss Hibiscus - Portland, OR

Swiss Hibiscus is just off Alberta Street so it may not get the walk-in traffic it would otherwise get and should deservedly receive. The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant from the food preparation to the decor to the restrooms.
