Fish City Grill - Lakeland, FL

Among the plethora of restaurants at Lakeside Village, Fish City Grill was an easy first choice.  Fish City Grill is a local chain. The menu items are more varied and eclectic with emphasis on Southern and Cajun cooking.

Bosphorous Turkish Kitchen - Lakeland, FL

Bosphorous is located downtown among a sea of other restaurants and where open parking spots are immediately seized.  Distinguishing itself from others is that it is one of the few ethnic restaurants downtown. On this evening, Kentucky Ave was a steady stream of people at the park.

Axel's Bonfire - Minneapolis St Paul International Airport

Axel's Bonfire is considered one of the better restaurant offerings in the Minneapolis Airport. In that regard the Minneapolis Airport is better than most other large airports in that it has more good restaurants than typical.

S & L Restaurant - Lakeland, FL

S&L is a local dive with some of the friendliest waitresses that pay detailed attention to your needs. It's located in an older section of town and it's a local restaurant where the locals eat.  It's unfortunate it's only open for breakfast and lunch but I suppose being in an industrial part of the city, traffic is lighter during the evening hours.  At lunch time, a constant stream of white plastic bagged takeout orders covered the counter.

Fire Restaurant - Auburndale, FL

The Fire Burger

It was ordered medium and arrived medium well. While not dripping with juice, it still was deliciously moist. The first bite had great grilled taste but the taste disappeared with the second and all subsequent bites.

Culver's - Platteville, WI

If there's a Culver's and a McDonald's next to each other, I'll always stop in at Culver's.  Much like McDonald's, Culver's has a standardized business model.  You know what you're going to get when you step into Culver's.  The question is will it be exceptional, very good, or par for Culver's.

At this Culver's, the Deluxe Single was a tad greasier than usual but tasted slightly better than usual with an slightly more enhanced grill taste.

Sushi on 7 - Markham, ON

Sushi 7 is another in a string of AYCE sushi restaurants in the GTA and with so many in the GTA, it can only mean good things for us who part with the money.

El Pastor - Madison, WI

I've driven by many times past El Pastor in this quiet unassuming building seeing a semi-filled not packed parking lot.  Still it piqued our curiosity and finally the timing was right for us to give it a try.

Yogi Noodle - Richmond Hill, ON

Yogi is a Hong Kong style diner offering the typical large assortment of food expected to be offered.  The question would be the execution.  Would it be below par, good, or great in the cut throat competitive GTA area?

Bahn Mi & Che Cali Sandwiches & Sweet Desert Restaurant - Toronto, ON

Competition for your food money is really tough in the GTA.  Next door north to Banh Mi & Che Cali is an eatery that sells banh mi sandwiches.  So which one do you go to for banh mi when the doors to these two are separated  by 10 ft?

Tsui Xiang Tsuen - Mississauga, ON

In the food court alongside other food stalls, Tsui stood out with a line well after the lunch hour rush. Tsui offers a huge variety of dishes coming in huge portions at satisfying low prices.

Chinese Halal Restaurant - Scarborough, ON

Service was a little slow in coming. A customer even left because he felt ignored.  But it was worth it. This was a gem.  It was all good and exceeded expectation.

Norske Nook Kaffe Hus - Osseo, WI

The address is 13807 7th Street.  This is the coffee house with a limited selection of pies, food, and seating as well as fewer customers.  It's located across the street from their restaurant Norske Nook Bakery and Restaurant with the 13804 address.

Shady Maples Smorgasbord - East Earl, PA

Think of Shady Maple as an Old Country Buffet on steroids with a heavy Amish influence.  Menus change nightly.  The quality and taste of the food ranges from below par to very good but mostly good.  I wish the desserts were smaller so I could sample more.  Overall a great place.

China Wok Buffet - Middleton, WI

Another day, another buffet. China Wok was a bit cleaner than the other Madison area Chinese buffets but this advantage is offset by that it offers has fewer items.
